RUNNING OF THE BULLS![]() The Charlottesville Running of the Bulls Almost Six-Miler. Quickly becoming a tradition. Voted BEST novelty race of the year 2008 by the Johnson Village Idiot. When: Saturday, Sept. 19th Family Fun Run (1/2 mile) at 8:00am Main Event: Almost Six-Miler at 8:15am Where: The Slate Estate (1611 Dublin Road, Charlottesville, Va 22903) The race begins at the lightpost in the Slates' front yard, and makes its way through the university, around the chapel and back-- ending at the Johnson Elementary School playground. Why: Nobody lives their life all the way up except bullfighters. --Hemingway Cost: $15 (t-shirt, a few prizes, some snacks and refreshment at the end) Attire: Whites with a red handkerchief. Packet Pick-up and Carb-loading Potluck Dinner, Friday Sept. 18th, 6-8 pm at the Slates (we can't force a dance party, but for you we might try.) Disclaimer: This race is maximum on fun, minimal on amenities. There won't be water stations nor a police escort; however, keep your eyes out for a celebrity "bull". Registration due by August 31st.
